As preparations gather momentum for the 20th anniversary celebration of the Ojagboro Youth Development Association (OYDA), the organisation has announced plans to honour distinguished individuals whose contributions have left a lasting mark on community growth and youth development. Among those slated for recognition is respected community figure, Dr Lukman Olayiwola Mustapha (LOM).

The special recognition is part of activities lined up for the grand finale of OYDA’s anniversary celebration, themed “Two Decades of Impact: Strengthening Youth Leadership for a Sustainable Future,” scheduled to hold on Sunday, May 31, 2026, in Ilorin, Kwara State.
According to the association’s Central Planning Committee, the honour is in recognition of Dr Mustapha’s remarkable contributions, steadfast support, and enduring impact both within the Ojagboro community and beyond.
Dr Mustapha, who is the Chairman, Board of Trustees of Sobi 101.9FM, is expected to join other eminent personalities who will be celebrated at the event. Organisers describe the occasion as more than an anniversary, calling it a reflection on two decades of youth-driven progress, leadership, and community service.
In a goodwill message released ahead of the celebration and the forthcoming Eid-el-Kabir festivities, OYDA extended warm prayers for peace, good health, and continued prosperity to invited guests and stakeholders. The association also reaffirmed its commitment to recognising individuals whose selfless service has inspired positive change and strengthened communal ties.
The committee noted that the anniversary celebration offers an opportunity not only to reflect on OYDA’s achievements over the past 20 years but also to chart a path toward a more sustainable future for youth leadership and community development.
“The association remains committed to strengthening youth leadership and sustaining impactful developmental initiatives that will inspire future generations,” the committee stated.
The grand finale is billed to take place at Government Day Secondary School, Isale Koko, Ojagboro, Ilorin, beginning at 10:00 a.m., with an impressive turnout of community leaders, government officials, traditional stakeholders, youth groups, and guests expected from across and beyond Kwara State.
For organisers, the recognition ceremony is not merely an award presentation, but a moment to celebrate individuals whose dedication, leadership, and service have helped shape lives and foster meaningful progress within society over the years.
